In case someone needs a simple to build "all band" antenna with pretty decent performance and not requiring the use of an ATU, have a look at this one

Simple "all band" (aperiodic) antenna Qvloop

the antenna is a terminated loop offering good NVIS radiation from 160 to 40 meters and pretty good takeoff angle going up in frequency, as shown in the image, the SWR curve remains under 2 for the whole HF range so the antenna doesn't require the use of an external ATU, to feed the antenna, use the BalUn described here https://hflink.com/antenna/#BALUN followed by the Guanella choke described here https://www.dj0ip.de/rf-cmc-chokes/different-kinds-of-chokes/d2-guanella-choke/ the latter isn't strictly needed, but won't hurt, if space is constrained the antenna size may be reduced, as a rule of thumb useĀ  4.38m for the horizontal side and 2.24m for the vertical one and multiply them as desired (the above use 4 as the multiplier), by the way the larger the antenna, the better the performance, but sometimes one has to make do with the available space Very Happy

Season greetings !
