Hi all,
the activity on forums comes and goes like waves on the sea. It is generally low in the summer time. But yes, the periods of decay seem to be deeper and longer on this forum. Maybe web browsers and social networks do not recommend it enough ?

For some reason I have the impression that this forum is less popular than the 'old' forum.
What could be the reason for this? Is there a certain 'threshold'?
Or is there less DIY nowadays?
(But maybe I see it completely wrong...)

Ok, I understand. I have increased the timeout to the maximum permitted, but it is interesting that I used the checkbox on login and I never seem to timeout. Perhaps I have got your time added to my time ;-)

Yes, but it could be my network.

I misread your post and thought I saw 60 seconds - and never gave it a second thought. If I try and type a decent length reply, it just says the server has reset

60 MINUTES, not seconds. You get an hour to answer the post.

But you can check a box when you login "keep me logged in" or something like that,

I have no problems typing long messages. So are you having trouble with the page dissapearing?

that 60 second time out is annoying, basically you get a minute to answer a post and then you have to re-type the whole thing

I am still learning about this forum administration. It seems there are so many "bells and whistles". This morning I cannot sleep after thinking about the neighbours fence, so I have used the time to learn a bit more about the forum. Here are some of the chamges I have made:

- Ivan (ok1sip) has been given full moderator permissions (this was an oversight on my part - I do apologise Ivan, sorry!).

- Timeout changed to 60 minutes of inactivity.

- Signature text enabled.

I believe that there is an automatic login feature for members. Would this be a benefit? I think that the danger would be members using a public or shared computer being automatically logged in without the member being aware.
